 Rosecrest
The Lutheran Homes of South Carolina have been aggressive developers of retirement facilities for some time. Lifeline has been fortunate to be selected to equip their several campuses with wireless emergency call systems. The flexibility of the systems lends itself to the development of the various Lutheran sites. In most locations, provisions were made to provide the whole continuum of care such as cottages for independent living, Assisted Living congregate facilities and skilled nursing.
Typically, once a site was procured a congregate building was planned first. This building was built and licensed as skilled nursing. As the campus continues to be developed, the scope and mission of the building project changes. The second phase has usually been the construction of independent living cottages or homes. This begins the initial stage of the retirement continuum. Finally, high-rise Assisted Living units are planned to fill in the middle. The ability of the Lifeline system to start small and grow with the evolution of the campus exhibits the overall flexibility of the system. The congregate graphic to the middle left details the initial building in the development of RoseCrest. This congregate building was built to SNF standards and initially houses skilled nursing and assisted living residents. The 68-acre site plan to the bottom left displays the entire campus with the congregate located in the bottom right sector (see red arrow). The five beige buildings above the congregate will be the assisted living units once constructed. The congregate will then be utilized only for SNF and dementia residents. The purple building will be a church. The green outlines with yellow dots will be duplexes and single-family homes for independent living retirees. As this campus grows, the system coverage expands to meet the campus needs. Once completed, a resident with a PHB (personal help button) will be able to walk the entire campus and be in contact with the staff with a touch of a button. That call for assistance will let the staff know the identity of the resident and where they are located on the campus.
