Governor Mitt Romney Selects Feinstein to Represent Massachusetts at Conference Designed to Help President and Congress Shape Policies on Aging for the Next 10 Years and Beyond
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Dec 06, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lifeline Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: LIFE), the leading provider of personal response services in the United States and Canada, today announced that Ronald Feinstein, president and chief executive officer, has been named by Governor Mitt Romney to represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the 2005 White House Conference on Aging. The conference will be held December 11-14 in Washington, D.C.
The White House Conference on Aging occurs once a decade to make policy recommendations to the President and Congress, and to assist the public and private sectors in promoting the dignity, health, independence and economic security of current and future generations of older Americans. Feinstein was named a Massachusetts delegate to the previous White House Conference on Aging, held in 1995.
The 2005 conference occurs as the first wave of the baby boom generation prepares for retirement. As mandated by the Older Americans Act Amendments of 2000, the agenda will focus on the interests and needs of current seniors, as well as the 78 million baby boomers who will begin to turn 60 in 2006.
The Massachusetts delegation to the 2005 White House Conference on Aging consists of four individuals named by Governor Romney, as well as 12 selected by members of the state's Congressional delegation.
